Max Booker also known as M.A.X., is a college student from Harvard University. He is currently pursuing a major in Economics. Originally from New Jersey, he has made Cambridge, Massachusetts his new home, actively trying to establish his life purpose. As an African American, he understands that personal progress depends on so many factors, the reason why he has been steadfast and more hardworking than his peers. Unknown to many, Max Booker is also a rapper with several songs under his belt.

It is unconventional to find a college student who is overly focused on their educational goals and balances a life outside the academic realm. Eventually, those who make it will prefer to let go of one side and focus on building something that promises prosperity. Well, this is not the case for Max Booker. He understands an Economics major will give him numerous opportunities in the future and improve his integrity in society. A musician with integrity is more marketable and relevant to any fan base. This is a strategy that Max Booker hopes to implement and perfect with time.

Max Booker has always been around music ever since he was a child. He took piano lessons and sang in the choir while in middle school. When he got to high school, he had enough courage to experiment with making his own beats. Garageband was his favorite music development tool that he installed on his smartphone. The app enabled him to give shape to his ideas, especially those random ones that would pop up during odd hours of the day. Within no time, he was rapping to his own beats. He was lucky enough to have a support from his brother, who always encouraged him to become better than he perceived himself to be. By the end of junior high, M.A.X. was posting music on Soundcloud.

He describes his process of making music to be rather personalized. M.A.X. writes lyrics based on how he is feeling or thinking during particular situations. He will then listen to music beats and bring out his emotions and words through rapping. His songs might bring out a mellow or energetic ambiance in the room but what matters is the process of it all and how much effort he put forth. His music reflects his feelings towards things that happen within his social circle and physical environment, and this, he believes, is the true meaning of hip-hop. Authenticity is crucial for him when making music as it reminds him that he cannot pretend to be something he’s not; this is a mantra that he wants to impart to his fans.

Right now, M.A.X. wants to finish college and continue building his fanbase. Having some consistent listeners will give him a sense of satisfaction. He does not want to be famous but wants show the world what genuine aspiration looks like for any young person with ambition.
